Terms and Conditions

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using Mafadi Studio. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. About Us

Mafadi Studio ("we", "us", "our") is a software-as-a-service platform providing SQL Server monitoring, diagnostics, schema comparison, data comparison, and database management tools. The Service is operated by Mafadi Studio and accessible at app.mafadistudio.com.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Mafadi Studio, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age, have the legal authority to enter into this agreement on behalf of yourself or your organisation, and agree to comply with these Terms and all applicable laws and regulations.

3. The Service

Mafadi Studio provides the following features depending on your subscription plan:

Live SQL Server health monitoring dashboards
Schema comparison and deployment script generation
Data comparison across environments
Script execution against target databases
AI-assisted diagnostics (AI Insights)
Audit logging of all user activity
Multi-server and multi-workspace management

Features available to you depend on your active subscription plan. We reserve the right to modify, add, or remove features at any time with reasonable notice.

4. Accounts and Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at support@mafadistudio.com if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account.

You may not share your account credentials with others. Each licence is allocated to a single named user.

5. Subscriptions and Billing

Mafadi Studio is offered on a subscription basis. Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in USD through our payment processor, Paddle. All prices are listed on our pricing page and exclude VAT where applicable.

Monthly subscriptions renew automatically every 30 days.
Annual subscriptions renew automatically every 12 months.
AI Insight Packs are one-time purchases and never expire.
Prices may change with 30 days' notice. Existing subscriptions will not be affected until renewal.

Payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited, who acts as Merchant of Record. By purchasing a subscription you also agree to Paddle's terms of service.

6. Free Trial and Free Plan

We offer a 14-day free trial for new accounts. No credit card is required to start a trial. At the end of the trial period your account will revert to the Free Plan unless you choose to upgrade.

The Free Plan includes limited functionality with no access to AI Insights or the script executor. Free Plan usage is subject to the same Terms as paid plans.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Mafadi Studio to:

Access databases you do not have permission to access
Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the Service
Resell, sublicence, or provide the Service to third parties without our written consent
Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
Use the Service for any unlawful purpose

8. Data and Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use your data. By using the Service you agree to our Privacy Policy.

Mafadi Studio connects to your SQL Server instances through a lightweight agent installed on your infrastructure. We do not store your database data on our servers. Schema metadata and comparison results are processed in memory and not persisted beyond your session.

9. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in the Service, including software, design, trademarks, and documentation, remain the exclusive property of Mafadi Studio. Your subscription grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service during the subscription period.

10. AI Insights — Disclaimer

Mafadi Studio includes an AI-assisted diagnostics feature ("AI Insights") that analyses your SQL Server environment and provides observations, recommendations, and suggested actions.

AI-generated output is advisory only. While we strive to ensure the quality and relevance of AI Insights, artificial intelligence can produce incorrect, incomplete, or misleading results. You acknowledge and agree that:

AI Insights are provided as a starting point for investigation, not as definitive diagnoses or instructions
You are solely responsible for independently verifying any AI-generated recommendation before acting on it
Mafadi Studio makes no warranty, express or implied, as to the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose of any AI-generated output
Any action you take based on AI Insights — including but not limited to executing queries, modifying configurations, or altering database objects — is taken entirely at your own risk

We strongly recommend that all AI-generated recommendations are reviewed by a qualified database administrator before implementation.

11. Script Execution and Destructive Operations — Disclaimer

Mafadi Studio provides tools to generate and execute SQL scripts against your database environments. These scripts may include operations that are irreversible, including but not limited to:

DROP — permanently removes database objects such as tables, views, indexes, or constraints
TRUNCATE — permanently deletes all rows from a table without the ability to roll back
DELETE — removes data rows from a table
ALTER — modifies the structure of existing database objects

You are solely responsible for reviewing every script before execution. By executing any script through Mafadi Studio, you confirm that:

You have read and understood the full contents of the script
You have assessed the potential impact of all operations contained within it
You have taken appropriate backups of any data that may be affected
You have tested the script in a non-production environment where possible
You accept full responsibility for the outcome of the execution

Mafadi Studio displays warnings for detected destructive operations prior to execution. The presence or absence of such warnings does not transfer responsibility to Mafadi Studio. It remains your obligation to review scripts thoroughly regardless of any automated warnings provided.

Mafadi Studio shall not be liable for any data loss, corruption, downtime, or damage arising from the execution of scripts generated or executed through the platform.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mafadi Studio shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

13. Termination

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you retain access until then.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, with or without notice depending on the severity of the violation.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notification at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa.
